Andrew J. Seligsohn is the president of Public Agenda, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening democracy and expanding opportunity for all Americans. Since joining Public Agenda in 2014, Seligsohn has led the organization’s efforts to foster public engagement, bridge divides, and support effective public policy through research and dialogue.Before his tenure at Public Agenda, Seligsohn served as director of civic engagement at Rutgers University–Newark, where he advanced community partnerships and civic learning initiatives. He also held leadership roles at the American Association of Colleges and Universities, focusing on civic responsibility and higher education reform.Seligsohn’s expertise spans democratic practice, public deliberation, and institutional change. He has published and spoken widely on topics such as civic engagement, public participation, and the role of higher education in democracy. Seligsohn holds a bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a doctorate in political science from Harvard University.He is recognized for his commitment to inclusive dialogue and collaborative problem-solving, working with communities, policymakers, and educators to address complex social challenges.
