Doug Ducey served as the 23rd governor of Arizona from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party, Ducey was first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. During his tenure, he focused on economic growth, education reform and public safety.Born April 9, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, Ducey graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in finance. Before entering politics, he built a successful business career, notably serving as CEO of Cold Stone Creamery, where he led the company’s expansion to hundreds of locations worldwide.As governor, Ducey prioritized job creation, tax reform and regulatory reduction, helping Arizona attract new businesses and investment. He championed increased funding for K-12 education and teacher pay raises, and supported school choice initiatives. Ducey also worked to strengthen border security and public safety measures.Ducey served as chair of the Republican Governors Association and was active in the National Governors Association. After leaving office in 2023 due to term limits, he continued to be involved in public policy and business.Ducey and his wife, Angela, have three sons.
