Rachel Pokrandt is the president of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. She began her tenure as the college’s eighth president in July 2021. Pokrandt brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education, workforce development and environmental education.Before joining UCC, Pokrandt served as campus vice president at Colorado Mountain College, where she oversaw multiple campuses and led initiatives in academic programming, student success and community partnerships. She has also held leadership roles at Houston Community College and the University of Houston.Pokrandt holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Miami University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Mexico. She is recognized for her commitment to student access, equity and rural education, and has been active in regional and national organizations focused on community college leadership.As UCC president, Pokrandt is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities, supporting workforce development and strengthening connections with local industries and communities.
