Dr. Michael Simeone is an associate research professor at Arizona State University, where he specializes in digital humanities, data science, and interdisciplinary research. He is affiliated with the School of Complex Adaptive Systems and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society. Dr. Simeone’s work focuses on the intersection of technology, culture, and society, with particular emphasis on data visualization, computational analysis, and collaborative research methods.
Dr. Simeone leads projects that explore new ways to analyze and interpret large-scale cultural and scientific data. He has contributed to initiatives involving digital archives, text mining, and the development of tools for humanities research. His research interests include the ethical and social implications of data-driven technologies, as well as the advancement of open and reproducible science.
Before joining ASU, Dr. Simeone held positions at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has published widely on topics such as digital scholarship, data visualization, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Simeone is also active in mentoring students and fostering partnerships across academic and public sectors.
He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
