Richard V. Reeves is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he focuses on social and economic policy. He is the director of the Future of the Middle Class Initiative and the Boys and Men Project at Brookings. Reeves is widely recognized for his research on inequality, social mobility, and family dynamics.Before joining Brookings, Reeves served as director of strategy to the UK’s Deputy Prime Minister and held positions at the London-based think tank Demos and the Institute for Public Policy Research. He has also worked as a journalist and policy adviser.Reeves is the author of several books, including Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do about It and Dream Hoarders: How the American Upper Middle Class Is Leaving Everyone Else in the Dust, Why That Is a Problem, and What to Do about It. His writing has appeared in major publications such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Guardian.Born in the United Kingdom, Reeves holds a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University and a Ph.D. from Warwick University. He is a U.S. and UK citizen and lives in Washington, D.C.
